Guest Choreographer!!!!

Hello Fans! MCB is proud to have Kiesha Lalama-White in our studios this week! She is working with the company on an original work for our up coming show 'Over the Edge' at the Blue Note on November 20th and 21st! Learn more about her background and experience and you will know why we are so excited to have her!


Kiesha Lalama-White is thrilled to be creating a work for the Missouri Contemporary Ballet.  Kiesha's  conceived and choreographed full- length contemporary dance theatre production, The Bench, received rave reviews and was honored as one of Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Top Ten of 2009 and named to the list of Best of Arts. Kiesha's most recent choreography projects include: The Intruder, which was awarded a spot in the coveted "Top 12" at the Youth American Grand Prix, Unsung Moment for the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, and Pressing On for Ballet Arkansas.  Kiesha's credits also include  a dance scene for the film Sorority Row, the National High School Musical Theater Awards at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway, Patterns for the Youth America Grand Prix which earned her an Outstanding Choreography Award, Let’s Play for Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Going, Going, Gone, which was awarded a Leo’s Award for choreography at the Jazz Dance World Congress, Vicious Cycle for the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, JOLT for the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Wonderfunk for Wright State University, and Auspicious Encounters and Rise for the Point Park University Dance Department.  In 2009, Kiesha was honored to be named in Dance Magazine as one of the "Top 25 to Watch". Kiesha’s teaching credits include master classes and workshops for the following organizations:  Cirque Du Soleil, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, The Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, Oakland University, Carnegie Mellon University, Wright State University, Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet, Booker T. Washington H.S. for the Performing and Visual Arts, and Dance Educators of America. Coming up, Kiesha will choreograph an original work for the Missouri Contemporary Ballet Company.  Kiesha is a full time Instructor with the Point Park University Dance Department and also serves as the Pittsburgh CLO Education Director. Kiesha is pursuing an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College. Through it all, Kiesha is most grateful for the unconditional love and support of her husband Roy and two amazing and inspiring sons Jake and Jax.
